The Legal Stuff – Please do not take it lightly

When this site was conceived, the last thing on Ian’s mind was a disclaimer. After all, he wants you to have an enjoyable surfing experience on this site. But his more Net savvy friends and well wishers strongly recommended that he include it, lest he and importantly you, get into any kind of trouble.

So here it is – the fine print
…to enable you to take kindly to him and also help you fathom the legalese, he has tried to simplify the English. Except wherever, he himself had trouble understanding what was being said by his Lawyers. Ian runs this site so that people like you can use it to see his work, expand your mind, educate yourself, have some fun, and derive such other forms of cybergratification as are peculiar to you. You cannot download pix from this site, for personal use. Don’t distribute, modify, transmit, reuse, re-post, or do anything else illicit with any of the pix, including text, audio and video, for public or commercial purposes unless you get Ian’s written permission. And that’s not likely to come easily.

If you visit www.ianpereira.com, you’re stuck with the terms and conditions listed here and any other law or regulation that applies to the site, the Internet, the World Wide Web, the Union of India, the state of Maharashtra and the city of Mumbai. Assume that everything on the site is copyrighted. Don’t use the stuff except in the manner specified here. So if you use stuff on the site, you’re using it at your own risk. Ian assumes no liability or responsibility for errors or omissions on this site. Neither is he liable for any damages you suffer when you use stuff from here. This includes “direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages arising out of your access to, or use of, the site.

Without limiting the foregoing, everything on the site is provided to you

whatever that means.

The upshot is, Ian is not responsible if you are browsing around and, the site damages you or your computer or infects it with any viruses.

You’ll stumble across a lot of trademarks, logos and service marks and images on the site, that he is using with someoneelse’s permission. Don’t assume you have any kind of license or right to use them. If you do, then be prepared to hear from his lawyers.

Ian has been kind enough to link this site to a lot of others so that you can enjoy whatever goodies that have been outlined in para 3 above. While that’s great, it doesn’t mean he checks them regularly to see what’s happening. Don’t blame him if some sites you link to are bad or have stuff on them that offends you or your mother-in-law. Link, but at your own risk. And don’t be stupid by posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, nasty, mean, or profane material or any material that legally may constitute a criminal offense, get someone in court on a civil lawsuit, or for that matter violate any law – anywhere, anytime.

While Ian certainly respects your privacy, he will have no choice but to fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court that asks him who might have posted nasty stuff on his guest book. He is allowed to change this page or anything else on this site any time he feels so. That’s because he owns it and has the programmers who can change it. If he does change the page, then you’re bound by those changes too, whenever you visit this site.

Ian is not trying to be nasty, just helpful. Remember he wants you to stay out of trouble. Besides, he wants you to visit this site and derive all the pleasures mentioned in para 3 above, not fight cases in court.

“>Happy surfing!
